Donation from WICEN Tasmania (South) Inc.
At the end of last week I had a radio fail. Unfortunately this was the main 2m radio port for the Hobart I-Gate (VK7HSE-3) I did have an old Philips PRM-8010 that was pressed into service however the PRM was rather deaf so I was relying solely on the local digipeater (VK7RHT-1) to receive all local APRS traffic.
I sent a small request to WICEN Tasmania (South) Inc. with a request for assistance in acquiring a new radio for use with the I-Gate, I was most pleasantly surprised when later that evening I was delivered (by VK7BW & VK7AL) an Icom IC-2720H with all the necessaries to make up a cable and get this radio on the air quickly.
So a big thanks to WICEN Tasmania for the generous donation and to inform all that the IC-2720H is now in service!
